Facilitating individuals living with disability in rural Kenya
The primary goal of this project is to enable the Disability Service Programme (DSP) to become financially sustainable. A proposal written by the director of the DSP, Mr. Carilus Okidi, outlines two very attainable objectives:
1) Purchase private land and create a purpose-built clinic to eliminate rising rental costs. Approximate cost: $10,000 CAD.
2) Establish an internet cafe and money transfer business in the nearby town of Homa Bay to generate income to help pay for programs and staffing. Approximate cost: $7,000 CAD.
